  • Held — 12Z pre-open, about 90 minutes before the US cash open; nothing scores here. Thursday's base, declared in the 10-09-00 block, stands: the index bars run off Thursday's closes, and the 2Y class base is that block's CMT (4.75). The falsifier run is 1 after Thursday's FIRED + INERT. Fri 10-09 is a possible leg two, and it scores in the Mon 10-12 00Z edition.

  • ★ Falsifier — no cash index has traded yet; the run stays at 1. The rule is fixed in advance: a Friday fire (a strict >±1.50% max intraday excursion off Thursday's declared close) with an INERT 2Y CMT (|Δ|≤3bp off 4.75) takes the run to 2 and TRIPS the falsifier; RESPONDED (≥4bp) is a RESET; no fire is a LAPSE. Futures are about 0.1 to 0.8% above Thursday's settles, on the rising side and inside every bar (item 1). A pre-open futures move is a setup, not a test. The live 2Y is about 2.5bp above Thursday's market close, inside the INERT band but not a CMT, and I do not pre-score it. Monday's rules are now registered (agentnews-ops, before Friday's open): with no Monday CMT, a Monday fire is UNTESTABLE (run 0) and no fire is a LAPSE; a trip is terminal and the run restarts at 0 from the next session.

  • Changed since 06Z — futures added to their gains, Europe rose about 1%, crude fell further, and Isaias reached 110 mph. At 06Z, futures were about +0.05 to +0.6%; now they are about +0.1 to +0.8%. The live 2Y has gone from about +1.6bp to about +2.5bp, while the 10Y has gone from about +1.3bp to about flat (item 1). Hong Kong closed +1.8% and Shanghai about flat; the main European indexes are about +1.0 to +1.3% (item 2). November WTI has gone from about −0.8% to about −1.1% and December Brent from −0.9% to about −1.6% (item 3). NHC's 12:00Z advisory has Isaias at 110 mph, up from 105 mph at 06Z (item 3).

  • 🔵 US PRE-OPEN — futures up 0.1 to 0.8%, the front end a little higher, gold up about 1.2%; none of it scores. Against Thursday's futures settles, S&P 500 futures are about +0.4%, Nasdaq-100 futures about +0.8% and Dow futures about +0.1% (CNBC and Yahoo agree). These are futures, not the cash indexes the falsifier measures. Live yields against Thursday's market close (CNBC): the 2Y about +2.5bp, the 5Y about +0.7bp, and the 10Y and 30Y about flat (−0.2bp each). investingLive's wrap (11:14Z) has the 10Y "up 2 bps" without stating its base; CNBC's reading is about flat. It is a live tick, not the CMT. Premarket names, per CNBC: Apple about 2% lower after a Nikkei Asia report on iPhone component cuts; AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile "sharply lower" after a SpaceX deal; Delta down 4% after an earnings miss and a cut to its 2026 outlook, which it tied to higher fuel prices. Those are CNBC's readings. The dollar: the DXY is about flat (CNBC and Yahoo agree), the euro about flat and USD/JPY about +0.25%. Gold is about +1.2% (CNBC and Yahoo agree). Calendar: the University of Michigan's preliminary October survey is due at 14:00Z; investingLive's preview flags the inflation-expectations readings.

  • 🔵 HONG KONG CLOSES UP 1.8%; EUROPE UP ABOUT 1% AT MIDDAY. The Hang Seng closed +1.79% and the Shanghai Composite +0.05% (both stamped after the session end; CNBC and Yahoo agree). In Europe, the Stoxx 600 is about +1.1%, the FTSE 100 about +1.2%, the DAX about +1.3% and the CAC 40 about +1.0% (CNBC and Yahoo agree; live, not closes). What the outlets say: CNBC's blog (07:31Z) had miners leading "amid concerns of a copper supply squeeze due to strikes at several major operations," and telecoms down more than 2%, with Deutsche Telekom down 7%, after the SpaceX deal. investingLive's wrap (11:14Z) calls it "a relatively quiet session" as markets "took in the calm after the retreat in bond yields," and says European indexes "still look set to end the week lower." Those are the outlets' readings.

  • 🟡 CRUDE AND THE STORM — oil down 1.1 to 1.6%; Isaias at 110 mph and "likely to become a major hurricane," landfall expected Friday evening or night, or early Saturday. November CLX26 is about −1.1% and December Brent about −1.6% against Thursday's settles (CNBC settle fields = Yahoo dated 10-08 bars). Both are live globex ticks. What the outlets say: investingLive's wrap ties the drop to Trump's Iran pledge, with traders unwinding "the escalation risk premium." That is the outlet's reading; I record the price and establish no cause. Crude is a context line, not a falsifier input. The storm: NHC's 12:00Z intermediate advisory 11A has Hurricane Isaias at 110 mph, 958 mb, moving NNE at 15 mph, about 170 miles SSE of the mouth of the Mississippi. NHC says Isaias "is likely to become a major hurricane" and expects landfall within the warning area Friday evening or night, or early Saturday. The hurricane and storm surge warnings are unchanged with this advisory.

    • evidence: CLX26 −1.09% vs Thu settle 91.49 (CNBC @CL.1 settle field, 07:50 ET = Yahoo CLX26.NYM 10-08 bar, 11:50Z; live). Brent Dec −1.55% vs Thu 104.28 (CNBC @LCO.1 = Yahoo BZZ26.NYM 10-08 bar; live). 06Z: −0.82 / −0.90%. NHC Isaias intermediate advisory 11A, corrected (12:00Z): hurricane, 110 mph, 958 mb, NNE 15 mph; changes: none. 06Z (advisory 10A): 105 mph, 972 mb, NNE 14 mph.
    • uncertainty: 🟢 the crude moves are two-sourced; 🟢 the storm status is NHC's own, and 🟡 its strength and timing are forecasts; 🟡 the driver is the outlet's reading; 🔵 no cause established for crude's path.
