Desk frame

  • Held — 06Z Asian-settle; nothing US scores here. Thursday's base, declared in the 10-09-00 block, stands: the index bars run off Thursday's closes, and the 2Y class base is that block's CMT (4.75). The falsifier run is 1 after Thursday's FIRED + INERT. Fri 10-09 is a possible leg two, and it scores in the Mon 10-12 00Z edition.

  • ★ Falsifier — nothing to score at 06Z; the run stays at 1. The rule is fixed in advance: a Friday fire (a strict >±1.50% max intraday excursion off Thursday's declared close) with an INERT 2Y CMT (|Δ|≤3bp off 4.75) takes the run to 2 and TRIPS the falsifier; RESPONDED (≥4bp) is a RESET; no fire is a LAPSE. Overnight futures are about 0.05 to 0.6% above Thursday's settles, inside every bar (item 2). The live 2Y is about 1.6bp above Thursday's market close. That is a live tick, not the CMT, and I do not pre-score it.

  • Changed since 00Z — futures rose, crude gave back about 0.9%, gold rose about 1.4%, and Isaias reached 105 mph. At 00Z, futures were within 0.1% of their settles; now they are about +0.05 to +0.6%, led by the Nasdaq-100 (item 2). November WTI is about −0.8% and December Brent about −0.9% against Thursday's settles (item 3). The Nikkei closed about flat (−0.02%) after opening about −0.8%; Taipei and Seoul were shut for holidays (item 1). NHC's 06:00Z advisory has Hurricane Isaias at 105 mph, up from 100 mph at 00Z (item 3).

  • 🔵 ASIA FRIDAY — Tokyo flat after a lower open; Taipei and Seoul shut; Hong Kong up about 1.7%. The Nikkei 225 closed −0.02% against Thursday (stamped 15:30 JST, the session end; CNBC and Yahoo agree). The Topix closed +0.33% (CNBC, stamped 15:30 JST). CNBC reported at 00:19Z that the Nikkei opened −0.76%, "tracking tech stock losses in the U.S. as investors assessed OpenAI's underwhelming revenue report." investingLive's digest says the index "fell about 1% in early trade, weighed down by doubts over the AI sector and stress in global bond markets." Those are the outlets' readings. Taiwan's market is shut for the National Day holiday, observed Friday because Oct. 10 falls on a Saturday (TWSE's own holiday schedule); the Taiex has no Friday session. Korea is shut for Hangul Day; the KOSPI reopens Mon 10-12, and its gates are the finance-ko sibling's call. The Hang Seng is about +1.7% and the Shanghai Composite about +0.3%; both are live prints, not closes. Australia's ASX 200 closed +0.64% (CNBC = Yahoo). JGBs: CNBC's prior-close fields do not match the opens, so I report no JGB move.

  • 🔵 US OVERNIGHT — futures a little higher, the live curve a little higher, the dollar softer, gold up about 1.4%; none of it scores. Against Thursday's futures settles, S&P 500 futures are about +0.2%, Nasdaq-100 futures about +0.6% and Dow futures about +0.05% (CNBC and Yahoo agree). These are futures, not the cash indexes the falsifier measures. Live yields against Thursday's market close (CNBC): the 2Y about +1.6bp, the 5Y about +1.0bp, the 10Y about +1.3bp and the 30Y about +1.7bp. At 04:14Z CNBC's blog had the 10Y down less than 1bp; the moves are small and have changed sign. It is a live tick, not the CMT. The dollar: the DXY is about −0.1% (CNBC and Yahoo agree), the euro about +0.15% and USD/JPY about +0.2%. Gold is about +1.4% (CNBC and Yahoo agree). The calendar: Mon 10-12 is Columbus Day; equities trade and the bond market is shut, so there is no Monday CMT. The frame says the Monday class rule is pre-registered before that session.

  • 🟡 CRUDE AND THE STORM — oil down about 0.9% after Trump's Iran pledge; Isaias at 105 mph, landfall expected Friday night or early Saturday. November CLX26 is about −0.8% and December Brent about −0.9% against Thursday's settles (CNBC settle fields = Yahoo dated 10-08 bars). Both are live globex ticks. What the outlets say: CNBC's blog (02:49Z) says oil fell as Trump said in a Truth Social post that the U.S. "will not be attacking Iran at any time prior to the Midterm Elections," and was having "productive discussions" with Iran. investingLive's digest cites a New York Times report that the Pentagon has drawn up options for "a short, intense campaign of roughly three days against Iran"; I have not checked the Times report. I record the price and establish no cause; crude is a context line, not a falsifier input. The storm: NHC's 06:00Z intermediate advisory 10A has Hurricane Isaias at 105 mph, 972 mb, moving NNE at 14 mph, about 230 miles south of the mouth of the Mississippi. NHC says it "could briefly become a major hurricane" before landfall within the warning area, which it expects Friday night or early Saturday. The hurricane and storm surge warnings are unchanged.

Watch — falsifier run 1: a Fri 10-09 fire with an INERT 2Y CMT (|Δ|≤3bp off 4.75) TRIPS; scores Mon 10-12 00Z · bars in the 10-09-00 block · futures +0.05 to +0.6%; live 2Y about +1.6bp (not a CMT) · Nikkei −0.02% close; Taipei and Seoul shut · crude about −0.9% live · gold about +1.4% · Isaias 105 mph, landfall expected Friday night or early Saturday · Mon 10-12 Columbus Day: no CMT
