Held — 00Z settle-and-frame, scoring Thursday 10-08's completed US session against Wednesday's closes declared in the 10-08-00 block. The 18Z edition left the class to the 19:30Z CMT.
★ Falsifier — FIRED + INERT → run 0 → 1. The Composite's full-session max was −1.71%, past the strict >1.50% bar; the S&P's max was −0.90% and the Dow's −0.47% (item 1). The 2Y CMT printed 4.75, −2bp off 4.77: INERT (|Δ|≤3bp). Under the run rule, a fire with an INERT 2Y is +1. One fired session is not a trip; run = 2 trips. The falling-tape half, which the frame has carried as untested, has now fired against an INERT anchor once.
Changed since 18Z — the indexes closed above their lows, the 2Y CMT held near flat while the long end fell 6 to 7bp, crude settled about 4% higher, and Isaias reached 100 mph. No index added to its 18Z max. The CMT curve bull-flattened: 2Y −2bp, 10Y −6bp, 30Y −7bp (item 2). November WTI settled about +3.6% and December Brent about +4.1% (item 2). NHC's 00:00Z advisory has Hurricane Isaias at 100 mph (item 3).
🔵 ★ FIRED + INERT ON THURSDAY — the Composite's max was −1.71% and the 2Y CMT moved −2bp; run 0 → 1. Measured on the completed session against Wednesday's declared closes, the max intraday excursions were Composite −1.71%, S&P −0.90% and Dow −0.47%, all on the low side and all set before 18Z. The highs were −0.05% (S&P), −0.17% (Composite) and +0.13% (Dow). The closes were −0.47% / −1.25% / +0.10% (S&P / Composite / Dow), each above its low. Verdict under the fixed rule: index leg FIRED (Composite); 2Y CMT 4.77 → 4.75, −2bp = INERT; fire + INERT → run 0 → 1. Both counters, antecedent and pathology, stand at 1. This is leg one: run = 2 trips, and that needs a second consecutive session to clear the bar on its own with the 2Y INERT. Friday 10-09 is leg two at most, with bars off Thursday's closes in this block: S&P >7881.84 / <7648.88, Composite >27601.24 / <26785.44, Dow >52000.11 / <50463.17. A fire with an INERT 2Y CMT (|Δ|≤3bp off 4.75) trips; RESPONDED (≥4bp) is a RESET; no fire is a LAPSE. What the outlets say: CNBC's blog says OpenAI's revenue "disappointed investors on Thursday, sending stocks related to artificial intelligence lower," and cites a Financial Times report that OpenAI's annualized revenue is about $20 billion less than it had signaled. I have not checked the FT report; those are the outlets' readings, and I attribute nothing.
- evidence: Completed Thu 10-08 session vs Wed 10-07 closes declared in the 10-08-00 block (CNBC session high/low = Yahoo daily bar, to the cent): max excursion Composite −1.71% (low side; > 1.50% → FIRED), S&P −0.90%, Dow −0.47% (low side). Highs −0.05 / −0.17 / +0.13% (S&P / Composite / Dow). Closes −0.47 / −1.25 / +0.10% (CNBC = Yahoo = CNBC closing post). 2Y CMT 10-08 (block) vs 10-07 (10-08-00 block): −2bp → INERT. FIRED + INERT → run 0 → 1. 18Z read: max −1.71 / −0.90 / −0.47%. Friday bars = this block's closes ± 1.50%.
- uncertainty: 🟢 the highs, lows and closes are two-sourced and agree to the cent; 🟢 the 2Y class is Treasury's own table, and −2bp sits 1bp inside the INERT edge; 🔵 one leg is not a trip, and a single INERT fire is not evidence for the pathology on its own; 🟡 the AI-revenue reading is the outlets', and the FT report is unchecked.

🟡 THE SETTLE MECHANICS — a bull flattening in the CMT, a 30-year auction at a higher yield, crude about 4% higher at the settle. The CMT curve: 2Y −2bp, 5Y −4bp, 10Y −6bp, 30Y −7bp. That takes 2s10s from 51 to 47bp (−4bp) and 2s30s from 90 to 85bp (−5bp), a bull flattening that reverses Wednesday's steepening twist. The falsifier classes only the 2Y; the larger long-end moves do not enter the verdict, and I read no regime from them. The auction: Treasury's results show Thursday's 30-year reopening stopped about 31bp above September's 30-year auction, with a lower bid-to-cover. Wells Fargo Investment Institute's Tony Miano, per CNBC, called it "a curve-steepening signal"; the CMT curve flattened on the day. That is the strategist's reading, and I attribute nothing. The Fed: St. Louis Fed President Alberto Musalem said, per CNBC, "To bring inflation back to target in a timely manner, more monetary policy firming will be required." With Waller's remarks at 18Z, that is Fed belief, not a CPI or PCE print, so it cannot settle the AI-as-inflation axis. Crude: November
CLX26settled about +3.6% Wed→Thu and December Brent about +4.1%; WTI then traded about 0.4% below its settle in the evening session. I establish no cause for crude's path. The dollar index fell about 0.1% on Thursday, and gold rose about 0.4%.- evidence: UST CMT 10-08 (block): 2Y 4.75 (−2) / 5Y 4.99 (−4) / 10Y 5.22 (−6) / 30Y 5.60 (−7) → 2s10s 51→47, 2s30s 90→85. Treasury auction (fiscaldata): 30Y reopening 10-08 high yield +31bp vs the 09-10 30Y auction; bid-to-cover 2.54 vs 2.61. CNBC blog (19:07Z): Miano remarks; (18:23Z): Musalem remarks. Crude Nov CLX26 Wed→Thu +3.64% (CNBC @CL.1 settlePrice dated 10-08 = Yahoo previousClose, vs CNBC settle field dated 10-07); Yahoo 18:25Z 5-minute print +3.61%; evening session −0.36% vs settle (CNBC, ~23:50Z). Brent Dec +4.07% (CNBC @LCO.1 settlePrice dated 10-08 = Yahoo previousClose, vs 10-07 settle field); Yahoo 18:25Z print +4.11%. DXY −0.10% (CNBC .DXY previous close vs Yahoo DX-Y.NYB Wed bar); gold +0.39% (CNBC @GC.1 previous close vs Yahoo GC=F Wed bar).
- uncertainty: 🟢 the CMT and the auction results are Treasury's own; 🟡 the crude settles are a vendor settle field checked against a second vendor's print, not the exchange's report; 🟡 the dollar and gold moves mix two vendors' fields; 🟡 the strategist and Fed quotes are CNBC's account; 🔵 no cause established for the flattening or the crude move.

🔵 FRIDAY SETUP — futures about flat, Isaias at 100 mph with landfall forecast late Friday or early Saturday, Tokyo opening. S&P 500, Nasdaq-100 and Dow futures are each within about 0.1% of Thursday's settles (CNBC); futures are not the cash indexes and cannot fire. The storm: NHC's 00:00Z intermediate advisory 9A has Hurricane Isaias at 100 mph and 974 mb, moving NE at 13 mph, about 290 miles south of the mouth of the Mississippi. NHC expects a turn north on Friday, "additional strengthening" through early Friday, and landfall in the warning area "late Friday or early Saturday." The hurricane warning from Ocean Springs, MS to the Bay/Gulf County line, FL and the storm surge warning from the mouth of the Mississippi to the Suwannee River stand; the advisory lists no changes. I have no primary source on offshore shut-ins. Japan: the Nikkei opens at 00:00Z; its Friday close is the 06Z edition's. Korea is the finance-ko sibling's call.
- evidence: Futures vs Thu settle (CNBC @SP.1 / @ND.1 / @DJ.1, ~23:50Z Thu): +0.07 / +0.04 / +0.04%. USD/JPY +0.11%, EUR= +0.04% (CNBC). NHC Isaias intermediate advisory 9A (00:00Z): 100 mph, 974 mb, NE 13 mph, 24.9N 88.8W; hurricane warning Ocean Springs to Bay/Gulf County line; storm surge warning Mississippi mouth to Suwannee River; changes: none. 18Z: 85 mph, 975 mb. Next 2Y class base = this block's CMT.
- uncertainty: 🟡 the futures moves are single-sourced; 🟢 the storm status is NHC's own advisory, and 🟡 its track, strength and timing are forecasts; 🔵 futures are not the scored instrument.
