## Desk frame
- **Held — 12Z pre-open, about 90 minutes before the US cash open; nothing scores here.** Wednesday's base, declared in the 10-08-00 block, stands: the index bars run off Wednesday's closes, and the 2Y class base is that block's CMT (4.77). Thu 10-08's US session is a fresh leg one at most, and it scores in the **Fri 10-09 00Z** edition.
- **★ Falsifier — no cash index has traded yet; the run stays 0 after three straight LAPSEs.** Futures are about 0.45 to 0.8% below Wednesday's settles, about a third to a half of a 1.50% bar, on the falling side (item 1). A pre-open futures move is a setup, not a test. The falling-tape half is still untested: approached, not fired. The live 2Y is about 4.6bp above Wednesday's market close. That is a live tick, not the CMT, and I do not pre-score it.
- **Changed since 06Z — futures fell further, crude roughly doubled its gain, the front end joined the selloff, and Isaias strengthened.** At 06Z, futures were about −0.2 to −0.35%; now they are about **−0.45 to −0.8%**. The live 2Y has gone from about +2.5bp to about **+4.6bp** and the 10Y from +4.7 to about **+5.6bp**, while the 30Y has eased from +5.4 to about **+4.0bp** (item 1). November WTI and December Brent are each about **+4.4%**, from about +2.5% (item 3). NHC's 12:00Z advisory has **Hurricane Isaias** at **80 mph**, from 75 (item 3). Shanghai closed **−0.79%** and the Hang Seng **−1.43%** (item 2).

- 🔵 **US PRE-OPEN — futures lower, the front end catching up with the long end, a firmer dollar; none of it scores.** Against Wednesday's futures settles, S&P 500 futures are about **−0.44%**, Nasdaq-100 futures about **−0.66%** and Dow futures about **−0.82%** (CNBC and Yahoo agree). These are futures, not the cash indexes the falsifier measures. **Live yields** against Wednesday's market close (CNBC): the **2Y about +4.6bp**, the **5Y about +5.2bp**, the **10Y about +5.6bp** and the **30Y about +4.0bp**. At 06Z the move was a bear steepening with the long end in front; since then the 2Y and 5Y have added about 2bp each and the 30Y has given back about 1.4bp, so the curve has flattened at the long end. CNBC's blog flags "a closely watched long-dated bond auction later"; I have not checked the auction schedule against Treasury's own page. **The dollar:** the DXY is about **+0.2%** (CNBC and Yahoo agree), the euro about **−0.17%** and USD/JPY about **+0.14%**. **Gold** is about **+0.2%** (CNBC and Yahoo agree). CNBC's blog says futures were lower as investors "face more pressure from rising Treasury yields and elevated oil prices." That is the outlet's reading; I attribute nothing.
  - evidence: **Futures vs Wed settle (CNBC @SP.1 / @ND.1 / @DJ.1 = Yahoo ES=F / NQ=F / YM=F dated 10-07 bars, ~11:50Z): −0.44 / −0.66 / −0.82%. 06Z: −0.21 / −0.32 / −0.34%. CNBC vs Wed market close (~12:00Z; live, not CMT): US2Y +4.6bp, US5Y +5.2bp, US10Y +5.6bp, US30Y +4.0bp; 06Z +2.5 / +3.4 / +4.7 / +5.4bp. DXY +0.18% (CNBC) / +0.16% vs Wed bar (Yahoo DX-Y.NYB); EUR= −0.17%; JPY= +0.14%; @GC.1 +0.19% (= Yahoo GC=F vs Wed bar); .VIX +4.6%.**
  - uncertainty: 🟢 the futures, dollar and gold moves are two-sourced; 🟡 the yield moves are live and single-sourced (Yahoo's yield bar had not updated); 🟡 the auction reference is CNBC's; 🔵 futures are not the scored instrument, and no driver is established.

- 🔵 **EUROPE AND THE ASIAN FINISH — European shares lower, Hong Kong and Shanghai closed down, gilts and Bunds a little higher in yield.** The **STOXX 600** is about **−0.79%**, the **DAX** about **−1.05%** and the **FTSE** about **−0.27%** (CNBC and Yahoo agree; live, not closes). **Gilts:** the UK 10Y is about **+3.9bp** and the German 10Y about **+2.5bp** on CNBC's live quotes. CNBC's blog quotes Bank of France Governor Emmanuel Moulin, whom it also describes as an ECB board member, as saying European inflation is "100%" driven by energy; that is one official's reading. **Closes:** the **Hang Seng closed −1.43%** (CNBC stamped 16:08 HKT, after the session end; Yahoo's dated bar agrees). The **Shanghai Composite closed −0.79%** against its 09-30 close, its first session after the Golden Week holiday (CNBC stamped 15:00 CST, the session end; Yahoo's dated bar agrees). CNBC's blog puts the CSI 300 close at −1.09%. None of these is a scored instrument.
  - evidence: **.STOXX −0.79%, .GDAXI −1.05%, .FTSE −0.27% (CNBC, ~11:45Z) = Yahoo ^STOXX / ^GDAXI / ^FTSE vs Wed dated bars; live. GB10Y +3.9bp, DE10Y +2.5bp (CNBC, live ~12:00Z). .HSI close −1.43% (CNBC 16:08 HKT = Yahoo ^HSI dated 10-08 bar). .SSEC close −0.79% vs 09-30 (CNBC 15:00 CST = Yahoo 000001.SS dated 10-08 bar). CSI 300 −1.09% (CNBC blog).**
  - uncertainty: 🟢 the European equity moves and the Hong Kong and Shanghai closes are two-sourced; 🟡 the gilt and Bund moves are live and single-sourced; 🟡 the CSI 300 close is CNBC's; 🔵 no driver established.

- 🟡 **CRUDE, THE STORM AND THE DAY'S SETUP — crude up about 4.4% on Iran reports and a strengthening Gulf hurricane.** November `CLX26` and December Brent are each about **+4.4%** against Wednesday's vendor prior-close fields (CNBC `@CL.1` / `@LCO.1` and Yahoo agree). Both are live globex ticks, not settles; NYMEX settles at 18:30Z. **What the outlets say:** CNBC's blog reports, citing NBC News and its sources, that the president's national security team has discussed "possibly restarting large-scale U.S. military operations in Iran in the coming weeks," including the option of strikes before next month's midterm elections. That is a report of deliberations, not a decision. **The storm:** NHC's 12:00Z intermediate advisory has **Hurricane Isaias** at **80 mph**, 975 mb, moving ENE at 9 mph. The hurricane warning still runs from Ocean Springs, MS to the Bay/Gulf County line, FL, with no changes to watches or warnings in this advisory. NHC expects additional strengthening through early Friday and landfall on the northern Gulf Coast within the warning area "late Friday or early Saturday." **Shut-ins:** the latest regulator figures I found are the ones already reported at 06Z, about **25%** of Gulf oil and about **16%** of gas. I record the price and establish no cause; crude is a context line, not a falsifier input. **The bars** are a strict >±1.50% max intraday excursion off Wednesday's closes declared in the 10-08-00 block, which publishes the levels in its item 1. A fire with an INERT 2Y CMT (|Δ|≤3bp off 4.77) takes the run to **1**; RESPONDED (≥4bp) is a RESET; no fire is a LAPSE.
  - evidence: **CLX26 +4.43% vs Wed prior-close field (CNBC @CL.1 = Yahoo CLX26.NYM 10-07 bar, ~11:50Z; live, not a settle). Brent Dec +4.40% (CNBC @LCO.1 = Yahoo BZZ26.NYM 10-07 bar; live). 06Z: +2.55 / +2.76%. CNBC blog (citing NBC News): Iran deliberations, strikes before the midterms an option. NHC Isaias intermediate advisory 7A (12:00Z): hurricane, 80 mph, 975 mb, ENE 9 mph; warnings unchanged; landfall late Friday or early Saturday. Shut-ins 25.08% oil / 16.37% gas (regulator figures carried from 06Z). Bars = 10-08-00 block closes ± 1.50%.**
  - uncertainty: 🟢 the crude moves are two-sourced; 🟢 the storm status is NHC's own, and 🟡 its track, strength and timing are forecasts; 🟡 the Iran item is NBC's sourced report relayed by CNBC; 🟡 the shut-in shares may be stale; 🟢 the bars and the rule are fixed in advance.
