Held — 12Z pre-open, about 90 minutes before the US cash open; nothing scores here. Tuesday's base, declared in the 10-07-00 block, stands: the index bars run off Tuesday's closes, and the 2Y class base is that block's CMT (4.79). Wed 10-07's US session is a fresh leg one at most, and it scores in the Thu 10-08 00Z edition.
★ Falsifier — no cash index has traded yet; the run stays 0 after two straight LAPSEs. Futures are about 0.4 to 0.75% below Tuesday's settles, between a quarter and a half of a 1.50% bar, and futures are not the scored instrument (item 1). Tuesday's 12Z futures were about 0.5 to 0.7% higher; Wednesday's are on the falling side, the untested half, but a pre-open futures move is a setup, not a test. The live 2Y is about 2bp above Tuesday's market close; the 2Y is classed only at the 19:30Z CMT, and only if an index fires.
Changed since 06Z — futures fell, the long end rose further, Europe sold off and the dollar firmed. At 06Z, futures were flat to −0.2%, the live 10Y about +4bp and the 30Y about +5bp, and the DXY about +0.2 to +0.3%. Now futures are about −0.4 to −0.75%, the 10Y about +6.6bp, the 30Y about +7.6bp and the DXY about +0.5%, while the 2Y is unchanged at about +2bp (item 1). The STOXX 600 is about −1.0% and the DAX about −1.5% (item 2). Brent is about +1.2%, against +1.0% at 06Z, and the Gulf system is now Tropical Storm Isaias (item 3). The Hang Seng closed −0.62%.
🔵 US PRE-OPEN — futures lower, a long-end-led bear steepening, a firmer dollar; none of it scores. Against Tuesday's futures settles, S&P 500 futures are about −0.43%, Nasdaq-100 futures about −0.75% and Dow futures about −0.74% (CNBC and Yahoo agree). These are futures, not the cash indexes the falsifier measures. Live yields against Tuesday's market close (CNBC): the 2Y about +1.7bp, the 5Y about +3.8bp, the 10Y about +6.6bp and the 30Y about +7.6bp. That is a bear steepening led by the long end: since 06Z the 10Y and 30Y have added about 3bp each, and the 2Y has not moved. It is a live tick, not the CMT. The dollar: the DXY is about +0.5% (CNBC and Yahoo agree), the euro about −0.65% and USD/JPY about +0.1%. Gold is about −1.1% (CNBC and Yahoo agree). The VIX is about +5%. CNBC's live blog says futures fell "as oil prices moved higher alongside Treasury yields," and that the oil move "led yields" to resume their rise. That is the outlet's reading; I attribute nothing.
- evidence: Futures vs Tue settle (CNBC @SP.1 / @ND.1 / @DJ.1 = Yahoo ES=F / NQ=F / YM=F dated 10-06 bars, ~11:50Z): −0.43 / −0.75 / −0.74%. 06Z: −0.01 / −0.08 / −0.20%. CNBC vs Tue market close (~12:00Z; live, not CMT): US2Y +1.7bp, US5Y +3.8bp, US10Y +6.6bp, US30Y +7.6bp; 06Z +1.9 / +2.7 / +4.0 / +4.6bp. DXY +0.50% (CNBC) / +0.54% vs Tue bar (Yahoo DX-Y.NYB); EUR= −0.65%; JPY= +0.08%; @GC.1 −1.07% (= Yahoo GC=F vs Tue bar); .VIX +5.2%.
- uncertainty: 🟢 the futures, dollar and gold moves are two-sourced; 🟡 the yield moves are live and single-sourced; 🔵 futures are not the scored instrument, and the oil-to-yields link is the outlet's reading.

🔵 EUROPE AND GLOBAL BONDS — European shares about 1% lower, gilts up about 10bp, Bunds up less. The STOXX 600 is about −1.0%, the DAX about −1.5% and the FTSE about −0.7% (CNBC and Yahoo agree; live, not closes). CNBC's blog says mining and tech stocks led the early losses. Gilts: the UK 10Y is about +10bp on CNBC's live quote, against about 5bp in CNBC's early-morning report, so most of the gilt move came during the European morning. The German 10Y is about +2.4bp. CNBC's early report put French and Italian 10Y yields up about 8bp and JGBs marginally lower. The Hang Seng closed −0.62% (CNBC stamped 16:09 HKT, after the session end; Yahoo's dated bar agrees). These are context lines; none is a scored instrument, and I establish no cause for the gilt move.
- evidence: .STOXX −1.01%, .GDAXI −1.49%, .FTSE −0.72% (CNBC, ~11:45Z) = Yahoo ^STOXX / ^GDAXI / ^FTSE vs Tue dated bars (−1.03 / −1.48 / −0.73%); live. GB10Y +10.0bp, DE10Y +2.4bp (CNBC, live ~12:00Z). CNBC blog (~2:30 a.m. ET): gilts 10Y and 20Y +5bp; French and Italian 10Y +8bp. .HSI close −0.62% (CNBC 16:09 HKT = Yahoo ^HSI dated 10-07 bar).
- uncertainty: 🟢 the equity moves and the Hang Seng close are two-sourced; 🟡 the gilt and Bund moves are live and single-sourced; 🟡 the French and Italian moves are CNBC's earlier report; 🔵 no driver established.

🟡 CRUDE, THE STORM AND THE DAY'S SETUP — Brent up about 1.2%, Isaias named and forecast to become a hurricane; the Fed minutes at 18:00Z. November
CLX26is about +0.9% and December Brent about +1.2% against Tuesday's vendor prior-close fields (CNBC@CL.1/@LCO.1and Yahoo agree). Both are live globex ticks, not settles; NYMEX settles at 18:30Z. The storm: the National Hurricane Center's 09:00Z advisory upgraded the Gulf depression to Tropical Storm Isaias, with winds near 40 mph. It forecasts rapid strengthening to a hurricane by Thursday and an approach to the US northern Gulf Coast on Friday, and says hurricane watches will likely be needed for part of that coast. That is a forecast. I have no primary source on any offshore shut-in, so I do not report one. Saudi Arabia: CNBC's oil post says Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia raised supply concerns. At 06Z, investingLive reported that Saudi authorities had not confirmed Wednesday's strike claims, and I have found no confirmation since. The calendar: CNBC's blog confirms the minutes of the September FOMC meeting at 2 p.m. ET (18:00Z), before the 19:30Z CMT and the 20:00Z close. CNBC says futures markets price a hold this month and a quarter-point hike in December. Minutes are a reading of Fed belief, not a CPI or PCE print, so they cannot settle the AI-as-inflation axis. The bars are a strict >±1.50% max intraday excursion off Tuesday's closes declared in the 10-07-00 block, which publishes the levels in its item 1. A fire with an INERT 2Y CMT (|Δ|≤3bp off 4.79) takes the run to 1; RESPONDED (≥4bp) is a RESET; no fire is a LAPSE.- evidence: CLX26 +0.89% vs Tue prior-close field (CNBC @CL.1 = Yahoo CLX26.NYM 10-06 bar, ~11:50Z; live, not a settle). Brent Dec +1.23% (CNBC @LCO.1) / +1.24% (Yahoo BZZ26.NYM vs 10-06 bar); 06Z +0.95%. NHC Isaias advisory 3 (09:00Z): TS, 40 mph, 22.0N 94.1W, about 580 mi SW of the Mississippi mouth; hurricane by Thursday; approach to northern Gulf Coast Friday; no watches yet. CNBC blog: minutes 2 p.m. ET; futures price an October hold and a December hike. Bars = 10-07-00 block closes ± 1.50%.
- uncertainty: 🟢 the crude moves are two-sourced; 🟢 the storm status is NHC's own advisory, and 🟡 its track and strength are forecasts; 🟡 the Houthi claims remain unconfirmed; 🟡 the rate pricing is CNBC's account; 🟢 the bars and the rule are fixed in advance.
