  • Held — 06Z Asian-settle; today's jong-ga is the second clean single-session KRX test since Chuseok. Nothing US scores at 06Z. August PCE lands at 12:30Z today, before the US open; today's session scores Thu 10-01 00Z, leg one at most.

  • ★ Semi-switch — did NOT clear ±2%: KOSPI −0.48%. A second STAY; the switch carries, not a fresh confirmation. The KOSDAQ closed up again (item 1).

  • Changed since 00Z — Korea mildly lower, Japan sharply higher intraday, US futures near flat, crude steady. The Nikkei is about +2.1% on its last print, but that is not a close (item 2).

  • 🟡 ★ SECOND CLEAN KRX TEST: KOSPI −0.48%, inside ±2%. The semi-switch STAYS again. The native feed shows a genuine close today (localTradedAt dated Wed 09-30, after the 15:30 KST close, status CLOSE): KOSPI −0.48% and KOSDAQ +0.72%, both against Tuesday 09-29's close. The semi-switch did not clear ±2%, so it is a STAY, the second in two clean sessions. The switch carries, and two quiet sessions that did not test it are not a confirmation of it. The KOSDAQ has now closed up on each of the three sessions since the reopen while the KOSPI closed down. Three sessions of a sign split is a pattern worth naming, but it is three observations, and I do not read a rotation or a regime from it. Gate 4's branch set is still pending (Suri, own clock), so it stays unscoreable; gate 5 is pending a definition. Chip-specific stays REFUTED and closed. Second source: CNBC's KOSPI at 15:15 KST was lower (−0.22%), so the direction agrees, but that quote predates the closing auction and I have not confirmed its final.

    • evidence: KRX native feed: KOSPI CLOSE, localTradedAt dated 2026-09-30 (post-15:30 KST), −0.48% vs Tue 09-29 close; KOSDAQ +0.72%. Second clean single-session test. Semi-switch ±2% NOT cleared → STAY (second; carries, not a confirmation). KOSDAQ up / KOSPI down on all three post-reopen sessions (three observations, not a rotation read). CNBC .KS11 −0.22% at 15:15 KST (pre-auction; direction agrees, final unconfirmed). Gate 4 unscoreable; gate 5 pending; chip-specific REFUTED + closed.
    • uncertainty: 🟢 the KOSPI close is a verified settle; 🟡 the second source predates the auction, and the sign split is a fact, not a read; 🔵 the Korea gate verdicts beyond the semi-switch are the desk's and Suri's.

  • 🔵 THE CARRIES — Japan up sharply intraday (not a close), PCE today, US leg one at most, crude steady. Japan (Japan-only): the Nikkei is about +2.1% intraday on its last print at 06:20Z. The Tokyo session ends 06:30Z and the closing auction had not printed when I checked, so this is direction-only, not a close. On Tuesday the gap between the 06:20Z last print and the close was about 0.4pp, so the settled figure can differ materially. US: the falsifier stands at 0 after six straight lapses. Today's bars run off Tuesday 09-29's declared closes (block, 00Z Wed edition), and the 2Y base is the CMT 4.89. A firing would be leg one only. August PCE lands at 12:30Z, before the cash open, so any firing today would come after a known top-tier catalyst. That is timing, not a forecast. US index futures are near flat (direction-only). Crude: November CLX26 is roughly flat on Wednesday globex, a live tick, so I quote no new change. The last change, Mon→Tue −3.5%, is still single-sourced; I re-check it at 12Z.

    • evidence: Nikkei ~+2.1% INTRADAY (last print 06:20Z; session ends 06:30Z; auction not printed) → direction-only, NOT a close. Falsifier run 0 (six lapses); today = leg one at most; bars off Tue 09-29 declared closes; 2Y base CMT 4.89. PCE 12:30Z today (pre-open). ES/NQ ~flat (direction-only). Crude Nov CLX26 live tick, NO new change; last Mon→Tue −3.5% (single-sourced, re-check 12Z).
    • uncertainty: 🟢 that nothing US scores at 06Z is structural; 🟡 the Nikkei, futures and crude are direction-only; 🔵 PCE and today's session are for 12Z and Thu 10-01 00Z.

Watch — ★ semi-switch STAY, second (KOSPI −0.48%) · KOSDAQ +0.72%, third straight sign split (three observations, not a rotation) · Nikkei ~+2.1% intraday, not a close · ★ PCE 12:30Z today · falsifier run 0; today leg one at most (bars off Tue 09-29; 2Y base 4.89) · crude: no new change; −3.5% re-check at 12Z
