Desk frame

  • Held (the switch — the desk owns the frame): the Fed/front end is the switch, VINDICATED (the anchor moves when pushed). Nothing scores this window. It is a US pre-open: the Treasury cash desk opens ~12:30Z and the CMT settle prints ~19:30Z, so the front carries Thursday's 4.20 (CMT, +1bp off 4.19 — one quantisation unit, i.e. flat). Gate #3 stays UNADJUDICATED; gate 5 (won) does not score (its next test is Monday); gate 4 (Korea demand) does not score (next read is Monday flow). Arc unchanged: 4.19×4, 4.24×2, 4.17, 4.19, 4.20.

  • Falsifier — WATCH, NOT SCORE, and the boundary is why. Thursday's antecedent FIRED (Nasdaq +1.57% close / +1.62% high vs a 1bp-inert 2Y — one session; two consecutive are needed). This window carries no US settle and no US cash session at draft, so it cannot score and its silence must NOT accrue as a does-not-trip. The deciding session is Friday's US cash close, whose score is pre-registered to the Saturday 00Z one-off against four fixed outcomes (frame.md): trips / does-not-trip / untestable→run RESETS TO ZERO / too-coarse. The second session can only be established on the cash tape (13:30Z open), not on pre-open futures. No directional read here.

  • Changed since the 06Z settle: nothing has settled. The pre-open tape is modestly soft (item 1); the FX controls held flat overnight into the US session (item 3). The load-bearing events — US cash open 13:30Z, Warsh ~14:00Z, the CMT settle ~19:30Z — all land after this window's draft and belong to the 18Z and Saturday windows.

  • 🟡 LEAD — there is no fresh inflation primary before Warsh, so the keynote is the axis's live DISAMBIGUATOR, not a confirmer; and the pre-open tape does nothing to what Thursday MEANS. The desk asked whether a same-day primary bears on the AI-inflation axis before Warsh speaks. Checked against BEA: there is none. July PCE — the hard print that axis turns on — released two days ago, 08-26 (core PCE +3.3% YoY), and the next release is Sept 30. So the last hard inflation read already landed, roughly in line, and the front absorbed it at +1bp per settle (4.19 on the 08-26 settle → 4.20 on 08-27): the anchor did not reprice hawkishly on the data. That is exactly why Warsh (~14:00Z, after this window — forthcoming, not covered, and I do not pre-report what has not been said) is the disambiguator between the two poles (Hammack: AI demand is inflationary; Warsh: AI productivity is disinflationary) rather than a confirmer of a move the data already forced. On Q1 — the US pre-open tape is modestly soft and far under any falsifier bar: S&P and Dow futures flat (ES −0.02%, YM +0.03%), Nasdaq futures −0.28%. Nothing overnight adds a second >1.5% session, and futures are not the cash tape the antecedent scores on — so Thursday still means exactly one fired antecedent, not a trip.

  • 🟡 THE WON — no score today; the forward test is Monday and its BINDING leg is the won magnitude, not the controls. Gate 5's bar (finance-ko frame, verbatim): USD/KRW moves >±10 won for 2+ consecutive sessions while DXY and CNH are flat. The operative trigger is the >±10 won magnitude; the flat controls are the precondition. Friday's session already missed on magnitude (−8.40, under ±10, one session) → UNTESTABLE, not a does-not-trip. What is fresh this window is descriptive, not a score: the won is holding near its firm level — on the frame's Naver series the live 08-28 row reads ~1,374.30 / −7.70 (still moving: the KRW session runs past the Seoul equity close, so this is not a final daily close — near-simultaneous pulls differ ~0.2 won), a touch softer than the 06:46Z snapshot's −8.40 — while the controls held flat overnight (DXY 99.19, USD/CNY 6.72). Both readings are under ±10, so gate 5 is UNTESTABLE wherever the row lands. The precondition is intact into Monday, but there is no new session and nothing scores. Monday: a move >±10 won with the controls still flat is the live 2-session test.

  • 🔵 THE FRONT — no CMT settle this window, so no front score; any intraday quote is a DIFFERENT instrument from the settle. The Treasury cash desk opens ~12:30Z; the CMT par-yield settle — the instrument gate #3 and the falsifier's 2Y leg score on — prints ~19:30Z, in the 18Z window, and the falsifier 2Y leg is pre-registered to the Saturday settle. So the front carries Thursday's 4.20 direction-neutral (≈4.19, 1bp, flat), gate #3 unadjudicated. I am not resting any read on an intraday 2Y quote: an intraday print and the CMT settle are not the same measure, and only the settle scores. On Q5 — what would break a standing claim today: nothing this window can. The switch ("the anchor responds when pushed") and the retired low-pathology call are both tested at Warsh and the settle, neither of which this pre-open window carries; a 12Z window has no instrument that can break a standing claim.

    • evidence: US 2Y last settle 4.20 (Thu 08-27 CMT). No US cash session at draft (desk opens ~12:30Z); CMT settle ~19:30Z. Falsifier 2Y leg scores at the Saturday 00Z settle.
    • uncertainty: 🟢 the front is untested at draft (US cash pre-open); 🟡 gate #3 unadjudicated; 🔵 the settle and Warsh are later today's, not this window's.

  • 🔵 CARRIES. Asia is closed — Friday's jong-ga and Tokyo-close settles (KOSPI 6,788.88, SK Hynix W1,653,000, Nikkei 66,405.56) were scored in the 06Z window and are the frame base; nothing re-prices them here. Europe is set to open firm after Wall Street's tech-led close — no Asia-wide or Europe-wide shock, no fresh hard primary neither edition has carried (Q4). The standing pre-Warsh narrative (Treasury pressure on the chair) is 08-26 positioning colour, one framing, unverified — carried as colour, not imported as fact. Micron's late-September print and Monday's Korean foreign-flow read are the next demand tests, both later.

WatchWarsh ~14:00Z — the axis's live disambiguator (no fresh inflation primary ahead of it; last hard print was 08-26 PCE, core +3.3%), lands after this window → 18Z's and Saturday's, not pre-reported here · the falsifier CANNOT be scored here — Thursday's one fired antecedent is unresolved until the Saturday 00Z settle; the second session needs the US cash tape (13:30Z), not futures; watch, don't score, don't imply direction · the front — 4.20 neutral, no CMT settle until ~19:30Z, gate #3 unadjudicated · the won — no score; Monday >±10 won with controls flat is the live 2-session test (binding leg = magnitude) · Korea flow / Micron — Monday and late-September, the next demand reads
